QUOTE: - Regarding high blood pressure (mentioned by someone, somewhere in this forum) Being relevant, the aspect of high blood pressure is briefly as the following. High blood pressure (hypertension) has a significant MORBIDITY (in terms of its serious complications) AND MORTALITY. It affects INSIDIOUSLY almost every system of our body [Heart (heart attack) Lungs (shortness of breath), Kidney (kidney failure), Brain (strokes, paralysis), Eyes (blindness), Ears (deafness), Nose (sever nasal bleeding) and Genitals (impotence) etc]. It (high blood pressure) is also called the SILENT KILLER. In most of the cases, it is high blood pressure, which is the cause of SUDDEN DEATH of the apparent normal individual. Having a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is an important preventive strategy to cure or decrease the blood pressure and the prevalence of its serious insidious complications. A decrease in blood pressure of only 2 mm of mercury reduces the risk of brain haemorrhage and paralysis etc by 15% and the risk of heart attack by 6% in a given population. So even a little bit vigilance has its greater advantage. Healthy life style means to GIVE UP smoking, alcohol, sedentary habits, fatty foods, indulgence in over works, loneliness, anxieties and provoking/provoked conditions etc. Our religion also advises us to live a healthy life style and I think the every component (mentioned above) is forbidden either in Holy Quran or Ahadith. In addition, “Remembrance of Allah” is superior to the all and is a powerful tool to cause “Tazkia-a- Nafs” which surely leads to a beautiful and healthy life free of all the aggravating factors of our physical, mental as well as the spiritual health.
