The Sunnah has been defined by the scholars of the science of Hadîth as follows:

“A word spoken, or an act done, or a confirmation given by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”

To understand it fully you have read the complete article.In short What ever prophet(pbuh) said,acted or approved some one action for the following of Ummah is called Sunnah of our beloved Prophet(pbuh).Most of the Sunnah is found in the ahadith.This is also in line with the Quran.If you will read the article you will see there many verses of Quran to support it.[/quote]
