[purple]am pleased S that you have assessed the situation well. thats what i have been trying to put across that the solution to all the calamaties mentioned does lie in the education & awareness of common person to quite an extent.

it does not cost much to use the resources for such. in pak. 
the cable is available to poor people as well on low low rates but sadly most of our media policy makers, producers etc have concentrated much creating programmes which do not give much of teaching; e.g. channels like 'national geographic channel', 'science channel' , 'Discovery' and 'Kids Discovery' could atleast be translated into local languages if producing such from scratch is difficult.(which actually is not-when you look at the skills, efforts and money which is being  spent on other entertainment programmes)Some documentaries have been initiated but nothing more than tourism or cooking.[/purple]

[green](mind you am not at all saying that the entertainment programmes must be completely restriced. even for that public needs education so that they can then pick for themselves where to spend their time. simply restricting them would cause further retaliation and reaction due to ignorance.)
