[quote]For Palestine one could make a case that perhaps poverty, unemployment, struggle for self-determination, loss of loved ones might fuel and contribute to rise of suicide bombers. Usually Muslim apologetics then generalize this to other areas as well. They might also claim that every community has its shares of fanatics like Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma Bombing. However, I think that the basic root of the current Muslim militancy is not so much poverty or struggle for self-determination but rather evil Ideology. Ideology that makes one feel self-righteous and paints others as demons. Shoe bomber, 5 Britons from Guantanamo, recent ammonium nitrate related arrests in UK, Spain Bombing, US Muslim soldiers espionage, etc etc All the aforementioned are not product of poverty or freedom struggle. But all the above cases are tainted with false and evil ideology. The best way to stop it would be the check of fanatic clerics, and organization. It must be done by us and NOT the U.S or other outsiders. Community leaders will have to make concerted efforts for this purpose. How much low have Muslims dropped? The dead bodies of US civilians in Iraq were mutilated and hung by bridges. Why are we quiet? Had the Israelis done this to suicide bombers bodies and tainted them with pig skin, we would have ranted like hell. We must own up our flaws and daringly send this foul fanaticism into the ABYSS.
