HKhan wrote:
.....shariah is quiet on the subject as mentioned above i.e. nothing is said directly about it...........
and Lofty wrote:
.......... I am also of the opinion that Shariah is silent on the issue......
[blue]Which Shariah do you mean? In Islamic terminology, masturbation (istimna) means self-stimulation of the sexual organ till one achieves emission of semen or orgasm While describing the believers, the Qur'an says, "The believers are... those who protect their sexual organs except from their spouses... Therefore, whosoever seeks more beyond that [in sexual gratification], then they are the transgressors." 23:1 [hl]The believers[/hl] must (eventually) win through, 23:2 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 23:3 Who avoid vain talk 23:4 Who are active in deeds of charity; 23:5 [hl]and who are mindful of their chastity, [Lit., "who guard their private parts"][/hl] 23:6 [hl][not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses[/hl] - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: [3] for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 23:7 [hl]whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors[/hl]; The last sentence makes it very clear that any sexual gratification outside marriage is considered a transgression of the law of God.
