[quote][blue]Every person has his own individual Shaitaan / devil who tempts him to do evil. It is called a Qareen / companion. Allah says,[/blue] [hl] قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَكِنْ كَانَ فِي ضَلالٍ بَعِيدٍ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." (50: 27)[/hl] [blue]The following explanation of that verse is from 'Tafsir Ibn Kathir Man and Devil dispute before Allah Allah's saying;[/blue] [hl][ [قَالَ قرِينُهُ] (His companion will say),[/hl] [blue]refers to the devil who is entrusted to every man, according to `Abdullah bin `Abbas, Mujahid, Qatadah and several othes. He will say,[/blue] [hl] [رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُ] (Our Lord! I did not push him to transgression,)[/hl] [blue]meaning, the devil will say this about the human who came on the Day of Resurrection as a disbeliever. The devil will disown him, saying,[/blue] [hl] [رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُ] (Our Lord! I did not push him to transgression)[/hl] [blue]meaning, "I did not lead him astray,''[/blue] [hl] [وَلَـكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـلٍ بَعِيدٍ] (but he was himself in error far astray.)[/hl] [blue]meaning, he himself was misguided, accepting falsehood and stubborn to the truth.[/blue][/quote]
