Sister the first approach you have to adopt is no forcing. You can't force him to do anything. Like lofty qouted the verse of the Glorious Quran &quot;Invite to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious.&quot; Quran 16:125
You need to talk to him openly about this matter, before you do anything you first need to know why your husband has such an attitude. You have to listen to his reasoning,  what stops him from fullfilling his duties, let him fully express himself.

I'm just giving you an idea from where to start, of course it may sound stupid, but I'm just trying to help with full sincerity.

Edited by: shah_625 on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 6:00 PM[/quote]Thank you so much MR.shah for understanding my problem and reply me in such a good and polite way.I was hoping sensible people like you on this form but any way there are all sort of people in the world.I have spoken to him about that and I told him how does it feel to me if he don't read namaz.His only excuse all the time 'I will do it' so every thing rely on I will .He is going to be 40 this year and I told him you can't rely on tomorrow.It's not that he don't want to but he is lazy he said 'i can't go for JUMMA namaz.I don't know how to read.' and then i said if you don't go you wont be able to know at all we have 2 sons , obviously they going to follow him so thats my another concern.
what shell i do
