I read this article about two valentines ago. I remember at that time there were some muslims in my school who celebrated it. Anyways I feel that celebrating any holiday besides the Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha is totally wrong. We cannot introduce something new into our religious practices which have not been instated during the time of the prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Also we are to refrain from copying the unbelievers; especially in matters of religion. How can we seek guidance from the ignorant ones? The one's whom Allah s.w.t. has not guided. Holidays in the West are a constant occurance. Theres a holiday for fathers, mothers, veterans, lovers, Irish and so on. Most if not all of their holidays do not relate to Christianity. Christmas has been changed around 180 degrees. It was originally suppose to be in spring. But during the colonial times, it was made to be during the winter because that is when the farmers had no work, therefore they could celebrate and visit their families. During the rest of the year they had to grow and cultivate their land. Also, Santa Clause was invented by the Coca Cola company, and the practice of hanging ornaments on the Christmas tree is a pagan form of worship which dates back to the time of the Prophet Moses, peace be upon him.
