Regarding the subject of this forum, in addition to the Quranic verse 24: 31, in the light of the above mentioned verses, we (both men and women) are commanded to do good and obey our parents EXCEPT when they ask for the Shirk (Polytheism) superadded by the verse 4: 34 for the married women and 4: 59 for those who work under some authority. It must be remembered that in authority are not only those who are in the Govt or the kingdom but everyone to one’s subordinates is an authority whether it is an office, school or a hospital etc.[/quote]
