Music was not used by the prophet sa and the companions in whole of their lives because it was Haraam, is Haraam and will be Harram till the last day. In Quran it is Haraam and forbidden as ‘Laghw’ and ‘Fahshaa’.

Condemning your stupid logic it is said that the things like cars, planes and computers etc are our needs though were not present at the times of the prophet sa while the music was present those time but still not used by them who, unlike you, spread Islam.

Tell me, 
IS MUSIC OUR NEED LIKE CARS, PLANES, AND COMPUTERS ETC? 
IF YOU CONSIDER OUR NEEDS to relieve the worries etc, YOU ARE WRONG. Only the remembrance of Allah makes you happy.
So don’t promote the unislamic things!

MUSIC BEING PRESENT THOSE TIMES BUT STILL NOT USED BY THE PROPHET SA AND THE COMPANIONS IN WHOLE OF THEIR LIVES IS THE STRONGEST EVIDENCE OF IT BEING HARA’M. 
SOME HADEES ARE ONLY TIME SPECIFIC DUE TO SOME REASONS OTHERWISE A SINGLE EXAMPLE OF USAGE OF MUSIC BY THE BY THE PROPHET SA AND THE COMPANIONS MAY BE SUFFICIENT.
IF ANY BODY SAYS ABOUT THE QURANIC REFERENCE, PROPHET SA IS THE REFERENCE [33: 21], IF YOU BELIEVE IN QURA’N.
