response: Marriage cannot be enforced on people. There has to be a need and want. Just because someone has the money does not mean he should have multiple spouses. He can contribute by supporting the needy in the society by making financial donations. If he is happy with one marriage then he should have that option.

In answer to your query about why 4 marriages and not more. It is a Divine command in Quran. It is like asking why 5 prayers a day and not 4 or 6. We have to submit to the Wisdom of Allah.

Response: Marriage has to have an expectation and an obligation. If you are taking a responsibility then you are expected to give it importance and value. If a previous widow has no rights and marriage only means financial provision and in return husband gets physical gratification then what would be the difference between marriage and prostitution.

What about the children of the widow. What sort of mental scars and labels will they grow up with. They have a father who comes at night and leaves by dawn. Do they not have a right to call someone a father who at least attends some of parent teacher meetings, sports day and shares holidays and time with them?[/quote]
