[b]Hepatitis[/b] mean inflammation of the liver. This inflammation can be caused by infections, medicines and chemicals. Among infections, we have the commenest causes as viral hepatitis, A and B.There are other type of germs that can also cause hepatitis.
 
Recovery from hepatitis depends upon the cause and takes weeks rather than days. It is essential to determine what is the cause of hepatitis.This can be established by blood tests, history of medicines used and life style.In some cases more specific investigations in the form of ultra sound and liver biopsy are required.
 
The management can require supervision of a specialist in liver conditions , if the cause is obscure and requires more sophisticated investigations.
 
My advice would be to go back to your GP and discuss the cause and management plan for hepatitis.To ask your GP if there is a need to be referred to a specialist.Do not turn to alternative therapy the consequences may be drastic.You need to undertsand that the recovery is prolonged and not instant.
