In a real practical world one can agree more to the statement “THERE ARE ONLY POWERFUL OR POWERLESS NATIONS” |

Asalam Aalaikum,
How does a nation become powerful or powerless? What I think is that a nation can become powerful by unity and strength provided by an influential or honest leader.
What do you think? |

As-Salaamu Alaikum Student1,
I presume that you have asked me this question.
Certainly unity brings a strong and powerful nation; but technology, specially the military, has played a tremendous role in a nation becoming very powerful. We have the current example of America as uninpolar force; even the European union is powerless in front of it |

When we agree that only powerful or powerless nations exist in real world then the next question comes as what makes a country powerful. We have three models of powerful nations 1.Japan(ECONOMIC GIANT) 2.EX USSR(HIGH STNDARD DEFENCE SYSTEM) 3.USA and CHINA(A MIXTURE OF BOTH)
we can study this in two ways, one is to find out the features that leads a nation in powerful category and the other one is to compare between 'them" and "us'. |

Quote: what makes a country powerful?
Your USA and China is an example of nations those are powerful in almost every sphere. But in comparing any two nations, the powerful is the one, which has the influence and dominance in getting much more benefits from the negotiation or compromise between the two.
So the statement could be more accurate if we say: “THERE ARE POWERFUL AND LESS POWERFUL NATIONS” |
