body scanner at airport

Salam

Recently two Pakistani women refused to go thru body scanner while going from Manchester via PIA and they were sent back to their home.

Body scanners are of two types:
1) Millimeter wave body scanner
2) Back scatter body scanner.

At the moment they are only in few airports but soon they will be in almost all airports.

If you see the picture in these scanners
(you can go to googles and see images by writing above scanner names)

they are absolutely NOT like "a naked body show" (as most people thought) , but no doubt it is little disturbing image of your body.

At least any man OR woman does not want it to be seen by others in general. (Agony for man and woman both)

So what is the solution???

At the moment they are selecting people randomly. (which is also disturbing , because if everybody would go thru this machine then may be nobody would feel too much embarrassed). And unofficially the people who look little religious (man having beard or woman with abaya etc), they have more chance to be victims.

But soon it would be unavoidable for all of us.It is going to be there soon in future for all airports.

In my opinion all people , muslims in particular, should raise their voice to make it "CONTROLLED"..................totally controlled.

for example...

Officials should make sure that woman should be seen on the monitor by woman only and man should be seen by man only ........
it happens in other cases as when occasionally "body search" is necessary in routine checking, the lady is going to separate room and body searched by a woman lady police....

Secondly there should be no racism or bias for any particular country or religion etc etc

If somebody have any other solution or comment????

Why cant the suspecious passengers be body searched by a man/lady police instead of a scanner which clearly outlines the private parts?

I also pray that it should not.....
but if u go thru the different opinion of security conderned officials in newspapers or articles , especially aviation authorities, it is an impression that soon all airport would do it.....and if some terrorist activities would continue , then there is more chance for that. Anyway, It is my wish also that it would not happen.....
u r right!! It is not sure.

YOU ASKED ME:
What makes you think so?

latest following news is my answer:

quote:

Security Force Favours Full Body Scanners for Airports (IANS)
9 March 2010 NEW DELHI - The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), that guards 57 airports across the country, wants full body scanners to be introduced for security screening.

“The CISF wants it. But it is the government which has to take a final decision,” CISF Additional Director General M.S. Bali said.

Bali said using full body scanners involves ethical issues. “People object that their private body parts are revealed. But if these are covered, people can hide explosives in their clothes.” CISF Director General N.R. Das said decision on installations of full body scanners will be taken by the civil aviation ministry.

These security people are so lazy that they do not want to get up and do pat search. They think they can sit in front of the scanner screen and complete their duty at the click of a button.

Wasnt that news from India? So far no Fatwa seems to have been issued by the Deobandis or their counterpart Tahirul Qadri who have hit the headlines for issuing Fatwa on other matters.

Several human rights and religious groups have expressed their disapproval and opposition of such scanners on the grounds of violation of privacy and human dignity. From amongst these groups, The Fiqh Council of North America and Shaikh Haitham al-Haddad, London, UK have published their fatwa.

Here are some excerpts:

We must remember that each one of us will be held accountable for the failure to act in forbidding evil and calling for righteousness.

It is compulsory for all Muslims to exert every possible effort to prevent the implementation of Body Scanners. At present it is merely in its trial phase whereby airports are attempting to normalize the procedure with a view to normalize the validity of its use in the minds of common individuals.

It should be condemned by working with civil liberty groups and lawyers to expose its violation of basic human rights that are also protected by Islam.

Muslims living in Muslim countries should also apply pressure on their governments to exercise their influence on western governments to stop the use of these scanners. This includes the refusal to send their students or citizens to such countries in which these scanners are in operation.

Muslims elsewhere are commanded by the scholars who have issued the Fatwa to forbid this iniquity as much as they can by boycotting countries and sending letters of condemnation to the embassies of such governments involved.
