hmm......so you classed me with clerics haaann 
any way --- you are right. its not necessarily Muslims who are the best in every age and time, it is basically the golden rules given by Islam which have been the guide always, since the first human being; not only since the last messenger sws;
even if every scientific discovery or human friendly fact is not mentioned in Qura'n or Sunnah of the prophets, there is nothing out there which contradicts these facts because Islam is the religion of nature, from the Creator.
