That is fine you follow the line of which ever scholar you care to follow & i will follow the way I personally understand the Quran. I dont think much more can be said on that.

However the line from Ghamdi you have quoted is rather logically not only weak but non existent. To justify violence against a wife by saying when all other options are exhausted as somehow excuses it. According to your scholars (as you dont appear to have a view and are expecting me to simply accept which ever scholar you follow) the bottom line is that Islam allows physical violence and that is morally acceptable to you purely your progative.
Where in the Quran do you find the mother son, teacher pupil relationship. To me you are simply adding to the religion simply to dilute something you morally find very uncomfortable but then that is up to you. I have given you my understanding which is reinforced by many others who have looked at the topic in depth.
As for you hitting a brick wall. You were already there you have not made the slightest effort to for a second to look beyond your long established acceptance of the scholars you choose to follow.
Anyway no more to be gained from this.
Next point you raised.
So why do you think Quran allows slaying of non believers? I have already given you the full quototion from the quran as to why I think your statement is a nonsense. |

I have never asked you to follow or agree with me. As I understand the whole point of discussion is to exchange views, if someone is open minded, then one broadens his knowledge and in some cases accept the reasoning.
I have given you my understanding which is reinforced by many others who have looked at the topic in depth.
Would you like to quote any major sources of tafseer or translation in this respect

it was a deep shock the other day to see a woman admitting to hospital through emergency with broken glass pieces of a wine bottle pushed into her vagina and rectum by her partner-as a part of domestic violence. this was a caucasian couple but we see cases of women's maltreatment equally amongst asians and even muslims.
on one hand we promote the west for women's freedom and position in society, on the other such terrible incidents force one to think that education is still required in regards of the fair and gentle treatment of women-be it amongst asians or caucasians, muslims or non muslims.
all the prophets of the past (pbu them) specifically the last prophet (pbuh) stressed tremendously on the protection of women's rights throughout his teachings and in his last sermon he specifically repeated three times'beware of your women's rights' his wisdom made him aware that this delicate gender would always remain vulnerable in evil hands  and a test for men's real manhood 
(i have sent this case for publication in medical journal-hoping it will appear somewhere for public education and ibra'h/ibrat) |

amen.(nice to hear from you after a while K-sala'ms- where had you vanished :)
wen i was walking to the op. theatres i had no idea how wud i remove those sharp edged glass pieces without damaging/destroying her delicate body and the pressure from admin was to let every pic saved as it was clearly a police case so i kept praying all the shifa dua's i knew, God help me help them. and alhamduillah the procedure was completed so easily and harmlessly-however the poor woman absconded from the ward next morning to avoid police investigation. living under pressure makes you do unexpected moves. (am not putting the pics up on this public site due to the reason of modesty and that they may be misused as porn on net)
besides, being involved in voluntary community services local police has requested me to help in asian women's forensic cases and it is an eye-opener and inspiration for public education all the time-
this is one of the reasons for getting involved with local exhibitions and introducing our renaissance readers club academics to try and bring into light the solutions available from religious contribution.we must ry similar around as where and wen possible as sr. aboosait said we need to remain awake n alive and i strongly feel for that we need awareness for self and others |

W. salam Sister Khan,
No not vanished and stayed well awake about this topic in particular and others in general.
Actually my intention remained to be as economical as possible to disperse my opinion about any issue that involves Quran and Islam in particular, coz I believe that every word spilled out of our mouth makes us more and more accountable to Allah Almighty on the day of judgement. May Allah saves us from being careless in this regard.
Secondly, the service that u do for the women is seen in highest revered regard at my end, and pray for your strength to deliver just good.
I remain intact for finding something where I can have my say or ask some Qs.
Just to invite your attention, and not to divert from the cause that you have already been attached and serving to, I ask if u have an idea about a male who lives for his family, earn for them, feed them, have Wife/kids at one end and the all deserving parents on the other. Male, having to satisfy his employer out, and in home, to satisfy Wife and Mother, who always, normally in Pakistan, remain at daggers drawn. The moment Male enters in home he starts going through a mental persecution, he needs rest but no way.
Heard a lot of lessons that a male should impose a Balance in the relationships but practically Zero results, Women are unpredictable, superstitious, over possessive, demanding, never satisfied in their own demands and many more things, difficult to mention.
Women being persecuted is always visible, but Men being persecuted, seen nothing.
Alhamd O lillah, I am an exception to the above scenario as i live abroad, but have seen many as good as lunatic out of this domestic trouble mostly originated out of two women that is the Mother and the Wife.
What is ur say about it?

I generally agree with wat you are saying K(excluding the part where most blame comes to the female gender  ).
actually wat we need to keep in mind is that the evil and good, both are not dependent on gender-rather on every soul's personal 'taqwa'(prevention); independent of gender. as Qur'an says that all humans are created from the same parents and the best amongst them is the one who is most righteous.
we also came across this fact during a 'domestic vioence' conference organized locally for various faiths a few months back that most problems were generated by women for women-but the duty of men in this regard cannot be ignored.
i'm afraid that as always i'll have to stress on the fact that education in all matters, including religious education is essential-which clearly and specifically conveys all the teachings about 'akhlaqiat'(manners/conduct) which is expected from muslim men and women; because really if we look at it, 97% of the Qur'anic teachings are about manners and attitudes and only 3% relate to the shariah/law-whereas the stress of the majoriy of our teachers and scholars is generally on the latter.
