From: <serving.humanity@gmail.com> To: <clare@pact.co.uk> Cc: Serving Humanity<serving.humanity@gmail.com> Subject: Dr.Afia Siddiqi's Case
Dear Clare
We request you to promote the news about the Pak-american Female Phd Dr Afia Siddiqi whom American Courts have accused of baseless crimes of terrorism and have recently given the verdict of 30 yrs or life time imprisonment. She is a mother of 3 and was kidnapped in very strange circumstances in 2003 while she was on a holiday in Pakistan from USA. Her very young children(youngest 6 months old who was on breast feed) were also kidnapped and separated from her. She disappeared for 5 years, some say in the American Torcher cells like Guantanama Bay. Later she was found in New york Prisons.
We think it's time that media came fwd and exposed such injustice on the part of USA
We believe that your renowned organization can help by organizing a programme on this issue.
Look fwd to hearing.

the meeting was very productive alhamdulillah . room was full & wide media coverage was available from the local and pk reporters. lord ahmed said that if he believed there was a factor of terrorism in this case, he wud never organize this in support of afia. a uni student suggested that instead of stressing on pakistani and muslim we must talk about 'human rights' to gain more voices and support in britain. imran khan's mesge was also read out. a joint letter has been sent to the president of united states directly from the house of lords.
(one of our local brothers has also emailed the info for sending ur individual messge:)

The case of Dr.Afia,i think has been finalized and I don't think the Court will change its decision. But inshallah hopefully things might get better and if muslims all over the world especially those living in USA,UK,Canada and other parts of the world start their protest on the streets and directly pressurize the US embassies in those countries, then maybe inshallah things will get better.
May Allah(swt) protect Dr.Afia |

ameen~thx fahad;but we hv been told by reliable sources at the meeting in the house of lords on tues. that there will be another court hearing in may'10 for the final decision, so we hv time for more pryrs & peaceful efforts insh'A. the letters are being sent for other victims and lost people as well. the 1st pakistani mp in the uk parliament, mr sarwar said that he does not believe in any kind of torcher for any reason anyway~be it to humans or animals or any living being. otherwise western culture is excellent about passing laws and rules against domestic violence, child abuse, & in favour of things like elderly care , dogs' rights, animal care, even saving the environment and plants and so on; it is really surprising how did they accept this method of torchering human beings?? |

I agree that Western culture is great when it comes to passing laws against such crimes but because this kind of torture and sexual abuse was done in the Jail and according to a women, she use to hear screams of a her in the jail.
I know that such kind of tortures to the Prisoners are forbidden by the Laws but the question is that why was not any complain sent against this kind of torture? Why didnot the authority and the concerned dept take notice of this? Now where is the human rights champion Asma Jahangir?Where are the NGOs of Pakistan? Where is the Human Rights community of the World? |

The Pakistanis living in different countries especially in the West should do a protest infront of the US Embassies and Consulates. The Business communities of Muslims in these countries should take a stand and send letters to the US Embassies regarding this issue. |

GEO and ARY and other Pakistani Global channels have created Shows about everything-Breakfast Shows, Comedy Shows, Political Shows, Fashion shows & even a special show about the recent cricket player's marriage issue spending hours. It would be great if they could initiate a special show for the awareness about Dr.Aafia Siddiqui and other such missing people. |
