Real plants?
Lutfi is related to Mullah Nasriddin.
Lutfi used to water his plants daily. He would bring the container near the plants and pour from it. But no water would come out. But he kept pouring. His neighbor Fadi saw Lutfi doing this strange ritual often.
One day Fadi went over to Lutfi and asked, "Excuse me, Lutfi, I see you giving water to these plants everyday but I don't see water coming out from the container. What is this practice?"
Lutfi replied, "Let me tell you a secret, these plants are plastic."
Fadi is more confused and asks, "Then why is there any need of pretending to water these plastic plants?"
Lutfi responds, "So that people would think these are real plants."
