assalam o alaikum
I have been trying repeatedly to send the following mail to you but it would bounce back all the times.

assalaam o alikum

I need your advice on the following case.
my friend's sister is about 16 yeears old. She lives in Kashmir and has been brought to lahore for treatment.
the problem with her is that almost a year back she started experiencing fits where she does not fall unconscious but seems to be possessed by a demon jinn etc. She beats whatever comes in her way. A jin talks and says he is a jinn who has possessed the girl for she killed their infants while going to school. This jinn threatens that they would kill this girl.
She recovers in about ten to twenty minutes. First this would happen almost at the interval of a month but now is frequent and happens almost every ten days.
Do you think it is some kind of disease or do i need to bleive in dr Khalid Zaheer's experience!!!!
What would you suggest. I think she should be shown to some psychologist?

Another important thing. My son has got hernia again and now i am trying to get him operated. Am in search of a good doctor.
Will let you know when found one. Please pray for him.

Following is a response to a query about a young girl having fits and feeling of being threatened to be killed by jinns

w'assalaam Dear

Sorry about the problem you faced with email but I must admit your email is in my mail box since yesterday along with a few more I need to reply insh' and there has been a delay due to some updating process on the net system.

Regarding the sister's case of fits what I would like to know as a gynaecological input is whether it is related to her cycles.

you can also write to
our Psychologists team @ Studying Islam

Besides we need a neurologist's opinion along with a CT scan if possible to rule out any focus in brain causing fits.

About your son plz see my email for the relevant contact. You can also write to the surgeons in this forum for advice.See pg 1 of Lend A Hand for contacts.

And as I always say whatever treatment/counselling we go for, must be accompanied by lots of dua's to Allah as finally the effectiveness of treatment lies in His hands and these are indeed trials of our lives, which may Lord keep easy for us. amen.

regards

Epilepsy is the name of the condition that produces fits or seizures. There are two main types of epilepsy.Grand Mal epilepsy, where the person losses consciousness and has jerky movements of the body. The second type is called petit mal epilepsy, in this the person goes blank or vacant for a short while, whilst remaining conscious. There is no jerky movements of the body.
The symptoms described exclude grand mal epilepsy. The specific mention of Jinn and killing of infants seems significant.I think the likely cause may well be psychological. It seems reasonable to see a neurologist first and ensure there is no medical cause. I suspect these symptoms are psychosomatic. There may be some thing pertaining to children that is playing on her mind. She may then need to see a psychologist or child psychiatrist

For recurrent hernias, the cause needs to be removed first then the second operation.

To the Moderators of this thread.

One of my friend is having a severe personal problem, I gave the link of this site to him but he hesitates to discuss his problems openly and wants to discuss his personal problems with the doctors on this thread inorder to get solutions for his problems.
He doesnot want to mention his name and has requested that he would appreciate if the moderators of this forum keep his name confidential.

Dear -----------
PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) is a collection of symptoms with a widely varied effects on fertility.

Best of luck on your wedding, await pregnancy for upto 18 months.

Alopecia or loss of hair can be multifactorial including genetics, constitution and normalising testosterone may not help

Kind regards

QUOTE: Alopecia or loss of hair can be multifactorial including genetics; constitution and normalising testosterone may not help.

It is right; testosterone is one of the causes of alopecia, not every alopecia is due to testosterone. It is same as; the pain of appendicitis typically shifts to the right iliac fossa but not every pain in the right iliac fossa is due to appendicitis.

It must be remembered that testosterone cause loss of hair on the head (in males) not on other parts of the body where cause paradoxically excessive growth.

I would like to know, for the academic purpose, the answer of the following question.

If there is high level of testosterone what is about its physiological effects on other systems of the body of a female, if we ignore alopecia.

Loveall please refer to
http://www.4woman.gov/faq/pcos.htm

for details about the effects of PCOS.

Student1 please check my email to you. Their email address is correct. They may be taking longer due shortage of staff or something; I don't know. The other option is to send me (trust me ) your concern which I can discuss with counsellor Mrs. Z. Ashfaq who does not work via net.

Not 5 but 6 Fs. The 6th one is faeces.

Arthroscopy, is a camera test that is undertaken to diagnose an internal problem in a joint. It is also undertaken to treat certain problems. It is a fairly safe procedure undertaken under general anaesthetic and involves key hole surgery. Most cases are performed as day case procedures.

It is mainly undertaken when the specialist feels that the patient has a cartlidge or ligament problem or has a foreign body ie broken fragment of bone.

If the severity of the problem is such that you cannot bend the knee, then my advice is to go ahead and have the procedure. Firstly an accurate diagnosis of the problem will be possible and secondly in many cases the specialist may be able to sort the problem out also.

Kind regards
