salaam HSBC bank will present their Amana project for buying houses on non interest bases
Is there such a commodity as interest free mortgage. It is nothing more than a rip off by charging people more than it would cost in a conventional mortgage and calling it interest free(utter falsehood). Dear hkhan I could not access that link, therefore I am afraid cannot comment. regards |

Islamic Capital Markets workshop taught at your institution
Course Tutor
Brian Kettell M.Sc. (Econ)
Announcing an intensive 2/3 day workshop covering the most important elements of Islamic Capital Markets - to be taught in -house.
The Sharia compliant investment industry has experienced a phenomenal growth over the last 5 years. From practically being non-existent a decade ago the industry is now worth over $100 billion. There is over $800 billion of reserves that needs to be invested in accordance with Shariah principles and the Sukuk market, in particular, has been reaping the benefit of this liquidity.
Islamic capital markets have experienced phenomenal growth in recent years as investors clamour for Shariah-compliant exposures across the full range of asset classes , from equities and bonds, to securitisation, bank finance, derivatives, private equity, commodities and Islamic funds.
This workshop will provide an in-depth understanding of Islamic capital markets and the workings of Islamic securities. In particular the intricacies of applying Sharia law to the evolution of capital markets will be stressed. It will look at how the Islamic capital market continues to develop and open up new structures. Participants will gain a greater understanding of the dynamics of Islamic finance, as well as the procedures for issuing and investing in Islamic securities: why they were introduced, who issues them, how this is done and what is the market demand for them.
This Islamic capital markets workshop is one of the very few events focusing exclusively on the Islamic capital markets and is a must-attend for players across the entire capital markets spectrum for both Islamic and conventional banks, private equity houses, project financiers, institutional investors and hedge funds.
The workshop will explore the latest trends and developments in this rapidly growing sector and offer forward-looking insights into key Islamic capital markets issues. The drivers for the current interest in Islamic investing will be discussed throughout.
Key issues discussed include: * To what extent are schools of Islamic thought converging towards a consistent view of Shariah-compliant capital markets? * What are the advantages, as well as the essential limitations of sukuk as a fund raising and investment vehicle? * The Malaysian model versus the GCC model of Sharia compliance * Opportunties, risks and pitfalls in Islamic asset and fund management * The Shariah compliant hedge fund and Islamic securitisation The runaway success of Sukuk and its asset-backed nature have established a completely new asset class which has combined Sharia compliance with returns competitive with that of their conventional counterparts.
The development of the Islamic finance industry has been staggering and the Sukuk instrument has found immense appetite within non-Islamic financial jurisdictions.
Case studies and exercises are emphasized throughout the workshop
Who should attend the workshop?
The workshop is specifically targeted at: * Commercial and Investment Bankers * Private Bankers * Analysts * Portfolio Managers * Lawyers * Investment Advisors * Regulators * Government representatives * Auditors and compliance professionals
