Question to computer specialists

I am using windows 2000. From one week I have problem to on my PC. When I type my password I always receive message ERROR - Could'n start event logger. I need to open task manager and from new task, etc. to enter windows setup. Somebody suggested I need to enter safe mode with Networking and to make spyware scans which I did without result. If anyone from you understand what I am talking about and can help, please post reply to my message. Jazak Allahu Khairun!

It appears to be a yet unknown virus and it is resisting your explorer.exe to be load.Anyway, after loading new instance of your desktop,
1.Search in folder "C:\WINNT\System32" for just "explorer" (without an extension) and delete it if you find one.
2.Goto C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and delete if you find any file similar to the name explorer.
Let me know if it works and make sure your antivirus software is up to date.
Please feel free to post if you have any questions.

I don't have any files with name explorer. And I have Norton anti-virus, ad aware, zone alarm, spy ware blaster, spybot search... Many times I find viruses, but unfortunately my problem with starting windows still exist. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

1.Clear all event logs from event viewer.
To open Event Viewer, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.
In the console tree, click the log you want to free.
On the Action menu, click Clear all Events.

2. Insert windows 2000 installation CD into cdrom, goto start menu, and then
run, type "sfc /scannow" without quotations.
