Fundamentals of Islam as described by Holy Prophet are:
1- Belive in Oneness of God & Belive in that Muhammad (pbuh) is His LAST prophet
2- Five Daily Prayers
3- Fasting of Ramadan month
4- Once in a life time Hajj (pilgrimige)
5- Zakat
These are commonly known as FIVE PILLARS of Islam. |

--now when most of our ppl are carryiing on with these fundamentals.
so wat and where r things going wrong....?

| I think, some things have been wrongly added to these Fundamentals. For examle, Jehadis compulsory for everone, Islam should dominate in the society, things regarding Tasawwuf etc. What do you think? |

Asalamolaikum
Do these 5 fundamental Pillars of Islam have a default sequence,i mean to say that are these fundamental Pillars of Islam are listed according to their position and requirment?
like Believe in Kalimah comes first and it is mendatory upon every believer to have faith in Kalimah first which is followed by prayer since performing prayer without having faith in Kalimah is like performing any perticular duty without having a clear understanding and faith on the basics of that duty.

I understand there is no default sequence. See the following version of the narrative:
‘Ubaydullah Ibn Musa narrated from Hanzalah Ibn Abi Sufyan, who narrated from ‘Ikramah Ibn Khalid, who narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar (rta) that Allah’s Apostle said: Islam is based on [the following] five [principles]: To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle, to offer the prayer diligently, to pay Zakah, to offer Hajj and to observe fast during the month of Ramadan.
However, these must be interlinked for all these things share common goal. |

does quran define some other qualities of Muslims/momin in addition to these... |

Asalam Aalaikum
No where in the Qur'an Allah(swt) has mentioned that these are fundamentals of Islam but these are our basic beliefs which are explicitly established in the Qur'an and they were directly derived from the Qur'an without any addition or amendment to them.

These Fundamentals (mentioned in the above POST) have been described individually at many places in the Holy Book. I can't remeber, despite being a Hafiz, any One place where they are present collevtively.
There are plenty of places where qualities of Muslims/momineen have been mentioned. For example see: 2:3-5, 8:2-4, 23:1-11, 33:35. |
