Shaving a New Born Baby's Hair
Question asked by Mrs. Tahsin Ahmed.
Posted on: Wednesday, May 31, 2006 - Hits: 4354
Question:
Recently we are blessed with a baby girl. My husband wants to shave the baby's hair. I am against it, my reason is baby's head is so soft shaving with a razor or blade will harm the skin and hair quality. He and his parents insist that it is a Sunnah. Please clarify as early as possible.
Answer:
The Shari'ah does not oblige us shave off the hair of a newborn. We may however do so if we deem fit for any other reason.
