Can a Jinn Possess a Human Body?

I never believed in this phenomenon, because I could never reconcile it with the ideology of Quran and/or Sunnah. On the other hand, I never termed it as a fabricated stuff and did believe that something does happen, but certainly Satan or Jinn has no power to possess a human body.

Yes! Satan has been given tremendous Powers to mislead humans and/or fellow Jinns, but in no way they are mandated to possess a human body. It is against the grand scheme of Allah (s.w.t.). Now see this; Quran replicates the dialogue that would take place at the day of Judgment between Allah (s.w.t.), Satan and Humans; its in surah Ibrahim Verse 22;

"And Satan will say when the matter is decided, "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth, I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I HAD NO AUTHORITY OVER YOU EXCEPT TO CALL YOU, but you followed me, now blame me not, but blame your own souls."

This Verse clearly says that the sole authority that Satan enjoys over a human is to CALL (mislead) him/her to the evil path, he (Satan) cannot physically make him do anything wrong, or if I rephrase it in the context of our discussion, then 'a Satan cannot possess or stop someone from doing good'. A simple example is, if Satan possesses one individual and as a result he/she misses a few prayers, then on the day of Judgment the one who was possessed can say that I missed my prayers because of Satan who possessed me, which is against what we learn from Quran.

Now the question is then “what is it?”, Pls. see this;

Multiple Personality Disorder:

A person suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder undergoes change in personality in just a few seconds. The patient then acts as a completely different person than he/she is in reality, the patient imitates characteristic and behavioral traits, name, history etc. of the person he/she thinks he/she is. People suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder sometimes undergo change in personality where they have alters of different genders, sexual orientations, ages, or nationalities. Some people alter to something that is not even human; they alter to some spiritual force, sometimes to different animals, sometimes to some extra terrestrial life force etc. Generally, people suffering from Multiple Personality Disorder has from 2 to 10 alters but at situations there have been as many as some hundred alters.

Now, just google 'Multiple personality Disorder' or 'Schizophrenia' and you would find a hell of knowledge about it. Youtube has got some useful Videos too.

Schizophrenia is a recognized chronic disability in Canada, and Canadian government pays up to $35,000/- in monthly disability Credits to a 'Schizophrenic' Patient.

'Schizophrenia' or 'Multiple Personality Disorder' is a preventable & curable disease. It is not a case of one being in possession of Jinn!!

As per Quran, Jinns/Satans have no authority to possess a human body.
